NTFS.SYS corrupted or Missing.

To solve this issue copy ntfs.sys file from your windows cd/dvd:
  1. Insert your windows XP cd into your cd drive and boot from cd.
  2. when the welcome screen start up press R  To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console.
  3.  Type the number of your windows installation drive.
  4. Type Administrator Password when you are prompted, and then press ENTER. If no administrator password exists, just press ENTER. 
  5. In the command prompt type the below command.
  6. cd \windows\system32\drivers
    ren ntfs.sys ntfs.old
  7.  your ntfs.sys file is renamed
  8. Now type the below command for copy file 
  9. copy cd:\i386\ntfs.sys drive:\windows\system32\drivers 
  10. Where CD is the drive latter for the CD-ROM drive that contains the windows XP CD, and drive is the drive where you installed windows XP.
  11. Remove Windows XP CD from your CD ROM drive and type quit to command prompt and press ENTER 
  12. Restart Computer
